According to a story published in the Washington Post, Americans spend more than $3.5 billion dollars a year on hair treatments!   This could mean a lot of money out of your pocket if you are suffering from hair loss and wish to try an expensive treatment program.  However, fear not!  If your pocketbook isn’t big enough for the expensive programs, there are still treatments you can use that save you money.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is a known degreaser.  Hair follicles can lose hair when they become clogged with dirt and other naturally-produced body oils.  Rub a little olive oil on the parts of your scalp that is showing signs of thinning before going to bed each night.  Be sure to wash and rinse in the morning.

Saw Palmetto Extract

Saw Palmetto extract is taken from the small fruits grown from the small palm tree known as the Serenoa.  Saw Palmetto extract is high in fatty acids and is helpful with DHT inhibition.  DHT is the converted testosterone hormone known to cause hair loss in both men and women.
